Eugenics, Racial Science and Genetics in Twentieth-Century Italy&#8221; (CEU Press, 2011) and &#8220;Many, Healthy and Strong. Eugenics in Italy&#8221; (2006). His main areas of interest include the&nbsp;history of eugenics and genetics and&nbsp;the history of science in Italy. His current research focuses on the development of Italian molecular biology. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Francesco Cassata, <em>Building a New Man: Eugenics, Racial Sciences and Genetics in Twentieth Century Italy<\/em>, CEU Press Studies in the History of Medicine, 2011<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/primolevicenter.org\/printed-matter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Cassata.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6595 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/primolevicenter.org\/printed-matter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Cassata-201x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"112\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primolevicenter.org\/printed-matter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Cassata-201x300.jpeg 201w, https:\/\/primolevicenter.org\/printed-matter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Cassata-389x580.jpeg 389w, https:\/\/primolevicenter.org\/printed-matter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Cassata.jpeg 474w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 112px) 100vw, 112px\" \/><\/a>Analyzes the Italian case study with the intention of discussing several fundamental themes of the comparative history of eugenics: the importance of the Latin eugenic model; the relationship between eugenics and fascism; the influence of Catholicism on the eugenic discourse and the complex links between genetics and eugenics. Follows its theme up to the mid-1970s.
