This essay is part of a widespread reflection on the places and forms of historical Judaism. In the vein of the great Italian classical scholar Giorgio Pasquali (1885-1952), who made fundamental contributions to the field of textual criticism in essay collections such as Pagine stravaganti di un filologo, (Extravagant Pages by a Philologist), I would like to share some extravagant thoughts to wrap up this year’s Passover.
