“Non contrarii, ma diversi” : the question of minority in the eyes of Christians and Jews in Italy (early 15th-mid 18th century)
Dead line for submitting papers : April 15, 2016
The conference aims at a collective thinking on how Jews and Christians conceived the Jewish presence in the majority society. Our reflection extends therefore to the relevance of the concept of “minority”, a scholarly category that must be questioned. The legal and political framework, cultural phenomena and social and economic practices will be considered.
We seek proposals for 30-minute papers, in English, that will possibly be published.
Proposals not longer than 500 words should be sent to Pierre Savy (savy_pierre@yahoo.fr) AND Alessandro Guetta (alessandro.guetta@gmail.com)
We support the costs of airfare and lodging for two nights in Paris
